Casino Gun

Casino Gun is a bullet-hell boss-rush top-down shooter in which you're a frog taking revenge for the destruction of your home by a higher power.

Once, the world was bathed in both luck and misfortune in equal measure, for every and anyone. However, a grand cheat took place, and this balance was broken. The Great Wheel of Fortune was corrupted, and now luck is just for few, while misfurtone is for many. To bind the spells, great casinos were built around the world.

Our history is driven by Frog da Silva, a humble resident from the swamps who had his home destroyed to make way for one of the casinos. Then a magic roulette appeared and offered him her help to take revenge on those who took everything away from him. Down to the casino we go.

Features

How to play

• Move with WASD.
• While in combat, left-click to fire your gun and hit the boss.
• Use Shift to dash. You are invincible while doing so. Beware, for you have limited dashes. They are replanished over time or when you successfully dodge a bullet.
• As you deal damage to the boss, you fill your roulette meter. When it's full, the roulette spins and you get a special gun, which deals more damage. This is done automatically.
• Reload a gun with R. When you reload a special gun, you can press R again when the reload indicator is in the right spot to get a buff your gun.
• Throw special guns with Q. It's useful to do that when it's out of ammo. Tossed guns also deal damage.
• To pause the game in combat, press Esc. You can do that to access the game's settings, return to the lobby or restart you run.
• Interact with E when prompted. You can use that to talk to NPCs and enter doorways.

Languages

Casino Gun supports two languages:

• English.
• Brazilian Portuguese.

Known bugs misunderstood features

There's no such thing as a perfect game. We do warn you about some possible casualties. These bugs are already being fixed. However, as this game was submitted to the Boss Rush Jam 2025, new builds will only be submitted after the jam's end.

Minor

• If you try to use the settings through the Receptionist, you won't be able to close the menu. Do talk to him though, as he's a really nice guy. Just don't ask for the settings. You can modify the settings in the pause menu during combat, though.
• After defeating the first boss, two dialogue lines are swapped, with the wrong character names. This does not disrupt the gameplay.
• If you rapidly spin the gun around while shooting, all bullets go to the same direction.
• There's a rare case in which the player might get stuck between two props in the third boss fight.

Major

• If you're lucky, you might get the basic gun in the roulette spin. If that happens, you'll only get ammo from the roulette. You can't throw the basic gun either, so you're stuck with it for the battle. Don't worry, though, it'll be back to normal in the next battle.
• Sometimes, the player might become invincible during the second boss fight. Additionally, when killing it while in this state, the player might instantly die.

Critical

• There's a chance the final boss will teleport into the walls and won't come back.  In that case, you can restart the run. This occurs quite often, and may block you from completing the game.
